Vanity Fair has unveiled the first images of Nightbitch, the horror comedy about motherhood directed by Marielle Heller (Can You Ever Forgive Me?) and starring Amy Adams (Big Eyes, Nocturnal Animals).
Produced by Searchlight Pictures, Nightbitch is the film adaptation of the novel of the same name written by Rachel Yoder in 2021 and has been officially rated Rated R for "language and sexual content."
The film will be screening at the 49th Toronto International Film Festival in September and will debut in U.S. theaters on Dec. 6.
The story of Nightbitch features an ambitious mother who puts her art career on hold to stay at home with her newborn son, but the experience will not be a positive one. The woman will become increasingly aware of the bizarre signs that she may be turning into a dog.
In Nightbitch, Marielle Heller wrote the screenplay for the film together with the author of the novel.
In addition to Amy Adams, the cast includes Scoot McNairy, Mary Holland, Kerry O'Malley, Ella Thomas, and Roslyn Gentle.
