MGM, the subsidiary company of Amazon Studios, is about to secure worldwide distribution rights to the sequel to the Romerian masterpiece Night of the Living Dead, già annunciato, tra l'altro, lo scorso ottobre da Deadline.
Alla regia di questo progetto ci sarà da Nikyatu Jusu (Nanny) mentre nella produzione compaiono Village Roadshow Pictures, Vertigo Entertainment, Westbrook, Origin Story e Sanibel Films. Quest'ultima fondata dallo stesso George A. Romero.
The sequel is produced and supervised by Christine Romero and Tina Romero, former wife and daughter, respectively, of the celebrated master of the horror genre.
The plot details of this new project have not yet been revealed.
Considered the precursor of the zombie movie genre, Night of the Living Dead (1968) is the first of six films directed by George A. Romero about zombies. This was followed by. Dawn of the Dead (1978), Day of the Dead (1985), Land of the Dead (2005), Diary of the Dead (2007) and Survival of the Dead (2009).
