The Void (Canada - 2016), the horror film written and directed by Jeremy Gillespie (Inferno of the Dead, Father's Day) and by Steven Kostanski (segment "W is for Wish" in ABCs of Death 2) has attracted the attention of many industry websites as well as horrorphiles thanks to the striking first teaser trailer evoking not only Lovecraftian but also Carpenterian atmospheres (The Thing). An homage to 1980s horror therefore, accompanied by a stunning and massive dose of special effects.
In addition, a new, intense and disturbing teaser trailer accompanied by the official poster was released a few hours ago. It was then announced that Screen Media Films will handle its distribution (U.S. theaters and VOD) which will take place on April 7, 2017.
Plot: Police officer Daniel Carter (Aaron Poole) reaches the hospital immediately after finding a man covered in blood walking in the middle of the street. Once at the hospital facility, however, Daniel will be confronted with a gruesome sight: almost all of the patients and staff are undergoing mutation. Carter will lead the few survivors on a hellish journey, delving into what appears to be the only escape route: the bowels of the hospital.
In the cast: Ellen Wong, Kathleen Munroe, Stephanie Belding, Kenneth Welsh, Evan Stern, Aaron Poole, Art Hindle, Amy Groening, Daniel Fathers, Trish Rainone and Grace Munro.
