The film is the film adaptation of the novel "Checkers number 13" (written by Jose Carlos Somoza), a work that treats poetry as a powerful, claustrophobic and surreal medium.
Plot: Samuel Salomon is a literature teacher scarred by the death of his girlfriend. Since that tragic day, the professor has suffered from a recurring nightmare in which a stranger is murdered during a strange ritual. When the same woman from the dream is found lifeless in the real world, Samuel reaches the crime scene to seek answers to his questions. There he meets Rachel, a girl who, like him, claims to have had the same nightmare. Together, the two will try to discover the identity of the mysterious lady, but their search will push them deeper into a dark world.
The cast includes Elliot Cowan, Franka Potente, Ana Ularu, Christopher Lloyd, Joanne Whalley, Manuela Vellés, Leonor Watling, Yennis Cheung, Eve Connolly, Ciaran McGlynn, Sam Hardy, and Eve Maher.
