Trailer and poster for Muck, the hyper-violent horror film marking the directorial debut of Steve Wolsh who, among other things, also handled the screenplay and production of the feature film. The film, which repurposes the old 80s horror cinema, was shot and released in 4K (Super HD), without the use of CGI enjoying handcrafted special effects. For this alone it deserves much attention as it departs from current productions that base their effects on CGI.
For St. Patrick's Day, a group of friends travel to an ancient cemetery located in a gloomy swampy area of Cape Cod, Massachusetts. The adventure turns into a nightmare when two of them die in the swamp. The survivors barely make it to an isolated house for shelter, but the uninhabitable terrain is not the only problem they will face because ghostly beings emerging from the darkness will hunt them down.
The film boasts the presence in the cast of Kane Hodder, the actor who played Victor Crowley in the saga Hatchet and Jason Voorhees in four chapters of Friday the 13th (7, 8, 9, and 10) and who here will be Grawesome Crutal, one of the creatures that emerged from the swamp. He is joined by sexy 2012 playmate Jaclyn Swedberg, Lachlan Buchanan, Lauren Francesca, Bryce Draper, Puja Mohindra, Stephanie Danielson, Laura Jacobs, Grant Alan Ouzts and Gia Skova.
Muck is the central chapter of a trilogy whose films are linked together, united by the St. Patrick's Day holiday. The story of the first will take place on the day before the holiday, that of the second (precisely Muck by Steve Wolsh) is devoted precisely to the day of the saint's veneration, while the concluding chapter will focus on the day after the holiday.
Prequel, Muck: Feast of Saint Patrick, is already in pre-production and filming will begin in 2015 after the release of Muck.
