Moonfall is the title of the new disaster movie directed by Roland Emmerich, the director of Stargate, Independence Day, Godzilla and The Day After Tomorrow - L'alba del giorno dopo.
The project, currently in pre-production, was announced last year, and now the names of the actors in the cast have been revealed. The film will be distributed by Lionsgate in 2021.
Josh Gad (Assassinio sull'Orient Express), Halle Berry (Gothika) e Charlie Plummer (The Clovehitch Killer) erano già stati annunciati da Lionsgate Film mentre oggi The Hollywood Reporter ha rivelato che anche Patrick Wilson (Insidious, L'evocazione - The Conjuring) ha raggiunto il cast di Moonfall.
The screenplay was written by Roland Emmerich in collaboration with Harald Kloser and Spenser Cohen.
Nel film, Patrick Wilson interpreterà un ex astronauta della NASA la cui ultima missione, che si è conclusa tragicamente, potrebbe rivelare informazioni importanti grazie alle quali trovare una soluzione all'imminente catastrofe. Charlie Plummer invece sarà suo figlio adolescente mentre Halle Berry sarà un’amministratrice della NASA. Infine nel ruolo del genio della scienza ci sarà Josh Gad.
In Moonfall, A mysterious force is pulling the Moon out of its orbit around Earth, inevitably bringing it into collision with our planet. A space team will attempt to avert catastrophe with a mission to the Moon to try to save Earth from destruction.
