Scream queen Debbie Rochon makes her directorial debut with Model Hunger, a female-driven slasher that will be released on DVD this summer thanks to WildEye Releasing. As a reminder, Rochon (Serial Kaller, Killer Rack) is a prolific Canadian actress known in the independent horror film world, particularly for her roles in Troma films.
Model Hunger boasts in the cast the presence of Lynn Lowry, the U.S. actress who played Nurse Forsythe in Shivers - A demon under the skin (1975) by David Cronenberg and who in Rochon's film is Ginny, an out-of-her-mind former model and pin-up actress.
Abstract: Ginny is a middle-aged woman who as a young woman was rejected as both a model and a pin-up actress. The woman has never accepted being rejected, accumulating much anger and desire for revenge over the years. Her new neighbors, Debbie and Sal, intrigued by her strange lifestyle, will try to find out more about her.
In addition to Lowry, the cast includes other well-known scream queens such as Tiffany Shepis (Night of the Demons - remake) and Suzi Lorraine (Dead of the Nite). They are joined by Carmine Capobianco, Brian Fortune, Robert Bozek, Kaylee Williams, Aurelio Voltaire and Lisa Dee.
