According to Deadline, the project (announced a year ago) was to be titled Mina Harker and has stalled just these days after Miramax Films decided to abandon it.
In the project, inspired by the Dracula by Bram Stoker, screenwriters Matt Manfredi and Phil Hay were involved, while Karyn Kusama, the director of Jennifer's Body and The Invitation.
Jasmine Cephas Jones (Blindspot), on the other hand had been chosen for the lead role namely that of a woman who meets Dracula in contemporary Los Angeles.
