Ahead of the Italian release, Eagle Pictures has released a promotional spot for Midsommar - The Village of the Damned, the new horror film written and directed by Ari Aster (Hereditary - Roots of Evil).
Midsommar - The Village of the Damned is a horror film that draws on Swedish folklore; in particular, the film deals with the theme of midsummer, a very important occasion in the culture of Scandinavian and Baltic countries.
Midsommar was rated Rated-R for violent and disturbing rituals, strong sexual content, gruesome images, graphic nudity, drug use, and inappropriate language.
Distributed by Eagle Pictures, the film will debut in Italian theaters on July 25.

The protagonists of the story are Dani (Florence Pugh) and Christian (Jack Reynor), a young American couple who, on the occasion of the traditional "Midsummer Festival," reach a remote Swedish village where their friend Josh (Will Poulter) will be waiting for them.
What begins as a carefree summer vacation takes a sinister turn when locals invite their guests to participate in disturbing rituals. From an idyllic retreat, this remote country village will quickly turn into a nightmarish place because of a pagan cult practiced there.

They complete the cast of Midsommar: Jack Reynor, Florence Pugh, Julia Ragnarsson, William Jackson Harper, Vilhem Blomgren, Will Poulter, Ellora Torchia, and Archie Madekwe.
The soundtrack is by British composer Bobby Krlic known by the pseudonym The Haxan Cloak.
