Written and directed by Ari Aster (Hereditary), l'horror Midsommar will be released in Italian cinemas on July 25 by Eagle Pictures under the title Midsommar - Il Villaggio dei Dannati.
Presented as a post-apocalyptic "Scandinavian Folk Horror" and compared by Ari Aster himself to The Wicker Man and to Alice in Wonderland, Midsommar addresses the theme of midsummer, a very important holiday in the culture of Scandinavian and Baltic countries.
According to what was revealed by Indiewire, Midsommar è un "terrificante horror sul culto pagano" e la sua durata è di 140 minuti.
On the occasion of the traditional "Midsummer Festival," Dani (Florence Pugh) and Christian (Jack Reynor) reach a Swedish village where their friend Josh (Will Poulter) will be waiting for them. However, the summer vacation soon turns into an increasingly violent and bizarre competition because of a pagan cult practiced there.
