Midsommar - The Village of the Damned is a horror film that draws on Swedish folklore; in particular, the film deals with the theme of midsummer, a very important occasion in the culture of Scandinavian and Baltic countries.
Plot: on the occasion of the traditional "Midsummer Festival," Dani (Florence Pugh) reaches a remote Swedish village with her boyfriend Christian (Jack Reynor) and a group of friends. Here waiting for them is their friend Josh (Will Poulter).
What begins as a carefree summer vacation takes a sinister turn when locals invite their guests to participate in disturbing rituals. From an idyllic retreat, this quiet country village will quickly turn into a nightmarish place because of a pagan cult practiced there.
In the cast of Midsommar there are also Jack Reynor, Florence Pugh, Julia Ragnarsson, William Jackson Harper, Vilhem Blomgren, Will Poulter, Ellora Torchia, and Archie Madekwe.
