The month of September, Midnight Factory features, in addition to the release of Somnia (we talked about here) also that of the highly anticipated Goodnight Mommy (aka Ich seh, Ich seh), the Austrian psychological horror film written and directed by Severin Fiala and Veronika Franz (Kern). Screened at the 72nd Venice International Film Festival and nominated for an Oscar by Austria for Best Foreign Language Film, Goodnight Mommy will be available in Italy starting Sept. 22 on DVD, Blu-ray and digital download.
As per Somnia, also the edition of Goodnight Mommy will be enriched by a booklet containing trivia about the film, the filmmakers, and the protagonists.
The protagonists of the story are ten-year-old twin brothers whose mother undergoes facial surgery that forces her to be away from home for several hours. Returning to her children with her face completely bandaged, the woman will be looked upon with suspicion by the twins who will begin to doubt that she is their mother.
In the cast: Susanne Wuest, Elias Schwarz and Lukas Schwarz. Ulrich Seidl produced the film while cinematography is by Martin Gschlacht.
