Thanks to Eagle Pictures, it will arrive on home video in July. Memoirs of an assassin (South Korea - 2003), one of the first films directed by Bong Joon Ho, the Oscar-winning director for Parasite (2019).
Memoirs of an assassin (aka Salinui chueok, Memories of Murder) will be available on DVD and COMBO (containing the double DVD+ Blu-ray format) starting from theJuly 8.
The film is the film adaptation of the play Come to See Me by Kim Kwang-lim and is inspired by the true story of Korea's first known serial killer, active between 1986 and 1991.
Considered one of the best South Korean films of the 2000s, Memoirs of an assassin was a great success at home as well as the winner of many awards at various international film festivals.
Memoirs of an assassin is an essay in directorial bravura in which the talent of Kang-ho Song, the actor who plays the father of the poor family in Parasite.
Plot: In a small village, the body of a young woman is found brutally murdered, and from that moment on, the specter of a serial killer plunges the entire region into terror. Together with a colleague from Seoul, two local detectives, as brutal as they are unprepared, think they can solve the case but, amid mistakes and false leads, they will be dragged into the depths of an investigation with no apparent resolution.
Also in the cast are Sang-kyung Kim, Roe-ha Kim, Jae-ho Song, Hee-Bong Byun, Seo-hie Ko, Tae-ho Ryu, and No-shik Park.
