Started filming of Meg 2: The Trench, the sequel to Shark - The First Shark (aka The Meg), the megalodon action/survival movie directed by Jon Turteltaub in 2018.
The sequel was directed by Ben Wheatley (Kill List) while the screenplay is by Dean Georgaris, Jon and Erich Hoeber, the authors of the script for the first chapter.
Targeted by Warner Bros., the film stars Jason Statham, the star of the 2018 film.
Plot of Shark - The First Shark (USA - 2018): an ocean submersible is attacked and damaged by a megalodon, a sizable shark that, until then, was considered extinct. Salvage expert Jonas Taylor (Jason Statham) is recruited to rescue the crew trapped inside the vessel lying on the Pacific seabed.
The Meg is the film adaptation of the novel "MEG" written by Steve Alten in 1997.
