New info arrives on the cast of Meg 2: The Trench, the sequel to Shark - The First Shark (aka The Meg), the 2018 megalodon action/survival movie directed by Jon Turteltaub and starring Jason Statham.
In addition to the aforementioned actor, Cliff Curtis, Sophia Cai and Page Kennedy will rejoin the cast of the new Warner Bros. installment, while Sienna Guillory (Resident Evil: Afterlife), Skyler Samuels (Scream Queens) and Sergio Peris-Mencheta (Rambo: Last Blood) will be added.
The direction of Meg 2: The Trench has been assigned to Ben Wheatley (Kill List) while the screenplay is by Dean Georgaris, Jon and Erich Hoeber, the authors of the script for the first chapter.
Plot of Shark - The First Shark (USA - 2018): an ocean submersible is attacked and damaged by a megalodon, a sizable shark that, until then, was considered extinct. Salvage expert Jonas Taylor (Jason Statham) is recruited to rescue the crew trapped inside the vessel lying on the Pacific seabed.
The Meg is the film adaptation of the novel "MEG" written by Steve Alten in 1997.
Filming of the film began last month in the United Kingdom.
