A24 has announced the release date of MaXXXine, the third and final installment of the slasher horror saga X initiated by Ti West (The House of the Devil, The Innkeepers) with X and continued with the prequel Pearl.
Produced by A24, MaXXXine is written and directed by Ti West, and the release date has been set for July 5, 2024.
In MaXXXine, Mia Goth (Marrowbone, Suspiria) returns as Maxine after surviving the farm massacre in X, playing a girl pursuing success by being an actress in 1980s Los Angeles.
In this concluding installment of the trilogy, in addition to Mia Goth, there are also Kevin Bacon (The Man Without a Shadow), Elizabeth Debicki (The Web of Deception), Lily Collins (Ted Bundy - Criminal Charm), Giancarlo Esposito (The Usual Suspects), Michelle Monaghan (Blood), Bobby Cannavale (Ant-man), Moses Sumney, and Halsey.
We remember you that Pearl (2022) is the prequel to the horror slasher X (2022) and centers on the character Pearl, the elderly woman played by Mia Goth (Marrowbone, Suspiria) in the first chapter. In the prequel, however, we find the actress in the role of an ambitious young woman living with her parents, and the story takes place in 1918.
