Mania, Desolation and Kill the PA (Kill the Production Assitant) are three films belonging to an on-the-road horror project and whose teaser posters (by Fred Thiel) for the first two chapters can be seen today.
The creator of this interesting trilogy is Jessica Cameron, the prolific actress (Silent Night, Save Yourself) and Canadian director of the award-winning Truth or Dare. Mem Ferda was in charge of the production of the three films, while Jessica Cameron and Jonathan Scott Higgins are the executive producers.
Filming began last November 3. The three films were shot together during an RV trip whose stops were as follows: California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Ohio, and Alabama.
The first film, Mania, is directed by Jessica Cameron for a screenplay by Jonathan Scott Higgins. The story, centered on a lesbian couple (also note the tagline: "A Fucked Up Lesbian Love Story") on the run after a murder, intrigued many actresses who, however, turned down the part because the script included many nude scenes. The beautiful scream queen Tristan Risk, already seen in American Mary, Fetish Factory and also in Save Yourself by Ryan M. Andrews, alongside Cameron herself. Tristan Risk, fascinated by the project, has agreed to join the cast playing Brooke. Ellie Church, on the other hand, will be Mel.
The second film, Desolation, is written and directed by Ryan M. Andrews (SICK: Survive the Night) and will again feature Tristan Risk as the villain along with Jessica Cameron, Carlo Mendez, Ryan Kiser, Ali Ferda and Teresa Parker. The story is about a married couple whose RV trip turns into a nightmare the moment they decide to give a hitchhiker a ride.
Aaron Lane will instead direct Kill the Production Assitant, a documentary film that will be a making of of the first two chapters. It will indeed deal with the travels and filming of Mania and Desolation giving the public a chance to see the implementation phase of this independent project.
