TetroVideo brings to Italy Maleficia (France - 1998), the new film in the Tetro Underground series launched last month with ROT by Marcus Koch.
Maleficia is offered in two editions: the standard (DVD) and the numbered limited edition Silver Plus with slipcase, transparent amaray, DVD and a collector's card.
The editions are currently on pre-order on the official website TetroVideo.
Considered a trashy splatter masterpiece, a low-budget ultragore colossal, Maleficia is written and directed Antoine Pellissier (Folies Meurtrières) and abounds in sequences full of splatter and gore until, in the surprising finale, a real bloodbath (about 1,000 liters of real blood and 500 kg of real bones were used during the making of the film).
The film was shot over 2 years, with 200 actors and extras.
Plot: A family of nineteenth-century noblemen traveling through the woods ends up unwittingly attending a black mass during which a satanic sect sacrifices young women to raise the dead through a bloody ritual.
Terrified, the family takes refuge in an old manor house where they will have to deal not only with the living dead but also with cannibals, vampires, and demons and, most importantly, with dangerous cult followers.
In the cast of Maleficia feature Nelly Astaud, Brigitte Garrigue, Guy Cicorelli, Claude Gatumel and Nicolas Pellissier.
