M3GAN 2.0: release date for android doll sequel slipped

According to reports from Collider, the release of M3GAN 2.0 is no longer set for January 17, 2025 but for May 16, 2025.
The screenplay of M3GAN 2.0 will again be by Akela Cooper (Malignant, The Nun 2) while Gerald Johnstone (Housebound) will return to direct.

M3GAN 2.0 is the sequel to the Blumhouse horror film about the android doll that was released last year and was a big box office success.
The cast of this new chapter will again include Violet McGraw and Allison Williams (Escape - Get Out), the stars of the first film.

M3GAN was released in the United States on January 6 by Universal Pictures grossing $45 million worldwide against a budget of $12 million and receiving positive reviews from critics. In Italy, however, it debuted in theaters on January 4, 2023.

In M3GAN, Allison Williams is Gemma, a brilliant robotics expert who creates M3GAN, an android designed to become a child's greatest friend. She then decides to test the doll with her granddaughter Cady, whose guardian she has become after a tragedy involving the little girl's parents.
