The official poster and trailer for Lily’s Ritual (aka El ritual de Lily), the Spanish folk horror film directed by Manu Herrera from a screenplay he co-wrote with Javier Fernández Moratalla, are now online.
Full of practical effects, the film blends pagan mythology and psychological horror, exploring themes such as devotion and faith.
Lily’s Ritual is set during the autumn equinox in Madrid at the end of the 20th century. It features Lily, a young woman who travels with her friends to a remote forest cabin to be initiated into witchcraft.
The ritual begins but when Lily collapses mid-ceremony, only to wake up bound, injured and alone, unaware that she has been chosen as the sacrifice to an ancient evil: the demon Lilith.
