The Exorcist: filming of David Gordon Green's reboot halted.

Several weeks after the start of the filming phase, filming of the reboot of the The Exorcist (first chapter of a trilogy) were interrupted due to health problems of actor Leslie Odom Jr.
According to reports from Deadline, the production decided to bring forward the holiday break, postponing filming directly to 2023, with the hope that the actor will recover in time to return to the set.

Based on the novel of the same name by William Peter Blatty, The Exorcist (1973) by William Friedkin was well received by critics gaining much popularity and becoming, in time, a landmark of modern cinema.

Recall that in the cast of the new The Exorcist there will also be Ellen Burstyn, here again as Chris MacNeil, Regan's mother, a character she previously played in William Friedkin's film.

De The Exorcist (1973) were made two sequels (The Exorcist II - The Heretic, The Exorcist III), two prequels/spinoffs (The Exorcist - Genesis, Dominion: Prequel to the Exorcist) and a TV series (The Exorcist) that ran for two seasons.
The story features Regan (Linda Blair), a 12-year-old girl who begins to show signs of imbalance after playing with a ouija board and unintentionally summoning the demon Pazuzu. Initially her mother will subject her to several medical, including psychiatric, examinations but without noticing any improvement in her daughter. Some disturbing and abnormal behaviors of Regan will then lead the woman to turn to Father Karras.
