LeprechaunThe Leprechaun film series that began in 1993 and consists of as many as six titles is joined by Leprechaun: Origins, the reboot written by Harris Wilkinson and directed by Zach Lipovsky.
Michael Luisi was in charge of production instead.
American companies WWE Studios and Lionsgate have announced that. Leprechaun: Origins will be released on demand on Aug. 26 while the date for DVD and Blu-ray is set for Sept. 30.

The film's story centers on the trip of two couples of friends to Ireland, an idyllic place ideal for relaxing and being in touch with nature. On the instructions of some locals, the four boys reach a chalet in the woods where they will discover to their cost that the stories about the legend of the harem have a basis in reality.

Playing the villainous Leprechaun, the horror icon of the new series in Lipovsky's film, will be wrestler Dylan Postl, better known as Hornswoggle. Joining him in the cast will be Stephanie Bennett (Grave Encounters 2), Brendan Fletcher (Freddy vs. Jason), Teach Grant (The Tall Man), Andrew Dunbar, and Adam Boys.

The trailer was put online today by EW (Entertainment Weekly) of Leprechaun: Origins which, unlike the previous chapters, seems to focus more on the horror side.
