After a year and a half of silence, the release of Leatherface, the new chapter in the franchise The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. According to an announcement on Twitter today by producer Christa Campbell, the film will see the light of day in October 2017.
Written by Seth M. Sherwood, Leatherface features French directors Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo, the directors of Inside (À l'intérieur) e Livid.
This prequel is positioned before Don't open that door (1974) di Tobe Hooper, facendo luce sull'adolescenza di “faccia di cuoio” e sulle cause che lo hanno portato a diventare un folle omicida.
Nel film Sam Coleman, Sam Strike, James Bloor e Jessica Madsen interpretano quattro pazienti (uno dei quali diventerà Leatherface) che fuggono da un ospedale psichiatrico. Il gruppo sequestra un'infermiera (Vanessa Grasse) facendole affrontare un viaggio infernale. Durante la loro fuga però saranno seguiti da un uomo di legge (Stephen Dorff), anche lui disturbato mentalmente, che è accecato dalla vendetta.
