First images of the Leatherface, the new chapter in the franchise The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Specifically, it is the prequel to Don't open that door directed by Tobe Hooper in 1974 and will see the light of day in U.S. theaters on October 20, 2017 thanks to Lionsgate while distribution will be handled by Millennium Films.
Written by Seth M. Sherwood, Leatherface features French directors Julien Maury and Alexandre Bustillo, the directors of Inside (À l'intérieur) and Livid.
This new chapter will focus on the adolescence of "leatherface" by shedding light on the causes that led him to become a homicidal madman. Leatherface will also receive the R Rating for violence, language and sexual references.
In the film Sam Coleman, James Bloor, Sam Strike and Jessica Madsen play four patients (one of whom will become Leatherface) who escape from a mental hospital after kidnapping a nurse (Vanessa Grasse). Hunting them down will be a lawman (Stephen Dorff), who is also mentally disturbed and driven by revenge.
