Lamb marks Valdimar Jóhannsson's directorial debut and stars Noomi Rapace (Men Who Hate Women, Prometheus, You Won't Be Alone).
Distributed by Wanted Cinema, Lamb is a surreal "biblical" horror film about the human-animal hybrid and is inspired by Icelandic folk tales and folklore.
The story follows Maria (Noomi Rapace) and Ingvar (Hilmir Snær Guðnason), a childless couple living on a farm in Iceland. On Christmas Eve, on their sheep farm the two find an infant who is half human and half lamb. Long eager to have a child, the couple decide to care for the hybrid creature and raise it as if it were their own child, without thinking of the consequences.
The unexpected and mysterious gift will bring joy and hope to the lives of the two adults only to unleash a series of nefarious consequences.
In addition to Noomi Rapace, the cast of Lamb also feature Hilmir Snær Guðnason, Björn Hlynur Haraldsson and Ester Bibi.
