The accused | Short film review

l-accused-posterThe accused is the title of a short film in the thriller-horror genre written and directed by Enzo Bossio.
The protagonists of the story are a man accused of pedophilia and his lawyer, who insistently asks him to tell his side of the story because he continues to have doubts about his innocence. The lawyer's pressing questions will trigger a strange and unexpected reaction in his client.

The accused is a short film lasting about seven minutes and with a simple, flowing story punctuated by suspenseful moments. The action takes place in a room where an interrogation takes place between a man accused of pedophilia and his lawyer. The film focuses on the argument the man gives to his lawyer and the latter's lack of trust in him.

What is striking is the extraordinary acting performance of Adriano Di Domenico whose persuasive voice is very pleasant to listen to. The rapid evolution of his character, his characterization, makes him a very charismatic figure.

accusedIn the final sequence, the story takes an unexpected and intriguing turn, however, which leaves one with bated breath. In fact, the story is amputated due to the short length of the short film, which if it had enjoyed a few more minutes would have satisfied the viewer more.
In fact, the story stops just at the moment when the audience is "captured" by the protagonist and would like to see him in action.

Enzo Bossio proves to be a promising director whom one hopes to see soon in a more challenging project--perhaps in an extended version of the The accused.
This short film, made on a shoestring budget, demonstrates how good ideas well exploited and excellent acting are indispensable to the making of a successful film.

The cast of The accused is composed by Adriano Di Domenico and Roberto Mosè. Photography is by Francesco Giordano, while the engaging music is by Simone Cilio.
The Boss Movies and Acting Shot handled the production of the film.
