Produced by James Wan and directed by Michael Chaves, La Llorona - The Tears of Evil (aka The Curse of La Llorona) will debut in Italian theaters on April 17, 2019 with Warner Bros. Italy.
The cast includes Linda Cardellini, Sean Patrick Thomas, Marisol Ramirez, Patricia Velasquez, Raymond Cruz, Tony Amendola, John Marshall Jones, Madeleine McGraw, Jaynee-Lynne Kinchen, and Irene Keng.
Mikki Daughtry and Tobias Iaconis handled the screenplay for the film.
Trama: ambientata nella Los Angeles degli anni '70, la storia vede protagonista Anna Garcia (Linda Cardellini), un’assistente sociale tormentata da una forza sovrannaturale che cercherà di prendere i suoi figli. Si tratta della “Llorona” (Marisol Ramirez), un’entità malevola intrappolata tra il Paradiso e l’Inferno. La sua colpa è stata quella di aver ucciso i figli in preda ad un raptus di follia, per poi togliersi la vita. La Llorona versa lacrime eterne e va a caccia di bambini nel disperato tentativo di colmare il vuoto lasciato dai suoi e condannando a morte coloro che di notte odono i suoi lamenti.
