The incendiary: first image of the new adaptation of Stephen King's novel

Ryan Kiera Armstrong (It - Chapter Two) appears in the first image of Firestarter, the horror film written by Scott Teems (Halloween Kills) and featuring Keith Thomas (The Vigil) as director.
The film is the new adaptation of The incendiary (Firestarter), a science fiction horror novel written by Stephen King in 1980 and from which Mark M. Lester was inspired for his Uncontrollable paranormal phenomena (1984).
In this new project, Ryan Kiera Armstrong plays Charlie, a role that, in the 1984 film was given to Drew Barrymore (E.T.).
In addition to the young actress, the cast also includes Zac Efron (Ted Bundy - Criminal Charm) and Michael Greyeyes (Fear The Walking Dead, Blood Quantum).

Firestarter is produced by Universal, Weed Road Pictures and Blumhouse while Martha De Laurentiis, already involved in the first 1984 adaptation, appears on the crew as executive producer.
Filming was started in May.

The plot of Stephen King's literary work: Charlie is a child with pyrokinetic abilities and owes her powers to her parents who, along with other volunteers, took part in a government experiment. Andrew, the father, has acquired the power to make people act according to his will and to influence their perceptions but Charlie's powers, unlike those of the parent, have unimaginable destructive effects.
The two are controlled by the Bottega, the federal organization that is hidden behind the experiments and would like to study Charlie. Their interest in the child will force Andrew and Charlie to flee but the two will be caught by John Rainbird.
In order to be reunited with her father, Charlie will learn to master her power under the advice of scientists but the little girl will not be easy to handle...
