Announced last April, Knock at the Cabin is the new horror film produced by Universal and directed by M. Night Shyamalan (The Village, And the Day Came, Split, Old) and will debut in U.S. theaters on Feb. 3, 2023.
The movie is the film adaptation of the novel The house at the end of the world (The Cabin at the End of the World) by Paul Tremblay, and it was revealed by the latter himself a few days ago in an interview on CNBC.
In the cast of Knock at the Cabin starring Ben Aldridge (The Titan), Jonathan Groff (Matrix Resurrections), Dave Bautista (Army of the Dead), Rupert Grint and Nikki Amuka-Bird (Old).
M. Night Shyamalan, in addition to directing, also handled the screenplay and production of the film, the shooting of which was completed last June.
Plot of the novel The house at the end of the world by Paul Tremblay: Eric, Andrew and their baby daughter Wen are spending a vacation in a secluded cottage in the middle of the New Hampshire woods, on the shore of a lake, nestled in a heavenly place and, above all, far from the hustle and bustle of the city but also away from the Internet and cell phones.
One day, however, four armed men jump out of the woods, and the family will be forced to barricade themselves in the house, looking for a way to call for help and defend themselves. Over the next few hours, in a crescendo of apocalyptic portents, paranoia, madness, fear and rituals, the small house at the end of the world will become the heart of the universe, the place where the fate of one family and, perhaps, all of humanity will be decided.
