In May TetroVideo distributes for the first time in physical format and as a world exclusive The knight, death and the devil (Italy - 1983), a dreamy film in the drama-thriller genre written and directed by Beppe Cino (The house of good return).
The film is available in bookbox format (DVD + poster) in Italian with English, French and German subtitles.
The knight, death and the devil is inspired by Double dream by Arthur Schnitzler, a short novel that Stanley Kubrick also drew on for his Eyes Wide Shut.
In 1983 this film work participated in the 40th Venice International Film Festival ("Venice De Sica" section) and was awarded the Cinema and Society Targa in Rome in 1985.
Expressionist-inspired, the film stars Paolo Bonacelli ("Salò or the 120 Days of Sodom" by Pier Paolo Pasolini), Mirella D'Angelo ("Tenebre" by Dario Argento) and Piero Vida ("La corta notte delle bambole di vetro" by Aldo Lado).
The cast also includes Jeanne Mas, Lola Ledda, Danila Caccia, Mattia Machiavelli and Francesco Costa.
The soundtrack is by Ettore de Carolis.
Plot: Monika and daughter Lola meet by chance the mysterious Orlok, a man who leaves them shaken. In contrast, on the other hand, Nicholas, Lola's father, becomes fascinated by the punk Patty, and when he returns home to his family, the three fall into a dark and interminable nightmare.
