Directed by Osgood Perkins, the filmmaker behind Gretel & Hansel (2020) and Longlegs (2024), the folk horror Keeper will arrive in Italian theaters on March 12 through Medusa Film.
We share the trailer and the Italian poster for the film starring Tatiana Maslany and Rossif Sutherland.

With Keeper, Osgood Perkins once again engages with dark and suspended atmospheres that fall within the territory of folk horror, a subgenre of horror that intertwines supernatural elements, folklore and isolated settings immersed in nature. This cinematic strand has its roots in works such as The Wicker Man (1973), The Witch (2015), and The Field Guide to Evil, films that explore superstitions, ancient rituals and the most unsettling side of folk traditions.

The story of Keeper follows a couple who, to celebrate their anniversary, decide to spend a romantic weekend in a secluded cabin in the woods. When Malcolm is suddenly forced to return to the city, Liz sinks into the solitude of the place and begins to confront a series of dark secrets that gradually come to the surface.

Distributed by Be Water, Keeper was released in the United States on November 14, 2025.
The cast also includes Birkett Turton and Eden Weiss.

In recent years, Perkins has established himself as one of the most recognizable voices in contemporary horror, thanks to a dark visual style and a narrative approach that privileges psychological tension and disturbing atmospheres.
After titles such as Gretel & Hansel and Longlegs, the director continues this path with Keeper, further exploring a form of horror cinema deeply tied to symbolic imagery and the isolation of its protagonists.
