Two horror films will be released in Italian theaters this month: The Watchers (June 6) by Ishana Night Shyamalan and A Quiet Place: Day 1 (June 27) by Michael Sarnoski.

June 6: THE WATCHERS
The horror film The Watchers marks the directorial debut of Ishana Night Shyamalan, the daughter of director M. Night Shyamalan (The Happening, The Visit, Split).
Produced by New Line Cinema and starring Dakota Fanning (War of the Worlds, The Runaways), the film is the screen adaptation of A.M. Shine's novel of the same name and will arrive in Italian theaters on June 13 with Warner Bros. Italy.
The story follows Mina (Dakota Fanning), a 28-year-old artist who who gets stranded in a vast, remote forest in western Ireland. After finding refuge in a house with a large stained-glass window, she discovers she's trapped alongside three strangers who are watched and stalked by mysterious creatures each night.
The cast includes Dakota Fanning, Oliver Finnegan, Olwen Fouéré, Georgina Campbell and Alistair Brammer. M. Night Shyamalan, Ashwin Rajan and Nimitt Mankad are the producers.

June 27: A QUIET PLACE: DAY 1
A Quiet Place: Day 1 is the prequel to the acclaimed sci-fi thriller/horror film A Quiet Place (2018) and will arrive in Italian theaters on June 27 distributed by Eagle Pictures.
The film is written by Michael Sarnoski and is directed by Michael Sarnoski (Pig), the director of the first two chapters of the saga produced by Michael Bay with his Platinum Dunes along with Sunday Night.
The film's story takes place before the events told in the first film, in a New York City forced into silence to confront the monstrous creatures that are invading Earth, and goes back to day one of the alien invasion. Here Sam (Lupita Nyong'o), a woman who is visiting the city when the tragedy begins, finds herself bonded to a man named Eric (Joseph Quinn) to face a long struggle to survive together.
The cast includes Oscar winner Lupita Nyong'o (Us), Alex Wolff, Djimon Hounsou, Joseph Quinn (Overlord), star of Stranger Things.
