This month's movie schedule at the cinema features the horror films The Other Side (Sweden - 2021) by Tord Danielsson and Oskar Mellander, Black Phone (USA - 2021) to be directed by Scott Derrickson and Studio 666 (USA - 2022) directed by BJ McDonnell.

JUNE 9: The Other Side
In theaters from June 9, with Bim Distribuzione, comes The Other Side (aka Andra sidan), the Swedish horror film about a family haunted by the spirit of a child who haunts the house. The film is directed by Tord Danielsson and Oskar Mellander, here directing their first feature film.
The story sheds light on a family moving to a small town. Once settled in their new home, the adult couple will begin to hear strange noises coming from a supposedly uninhabited part of the house. In particular, the son, only a few years old, will reveal to his parents that he has a special friend to play with.
In the cast of The Other Side (Sweden - 2021) features Dilan Gwyn (The Convent - Heretiks), Linus Wahlgren, Karin Holmberg, Jakob Fahlstedt, Janna Granström, Niklas Jarneheim and Henrik Norlén.
The script is by the filmmakers themselves.

JUNE 23: Black Phone
With Universal Pictures, debuting in theaters on June 23. Black Phone (USA - 2021), the horror film produced by Blumhouse and featuring Scott Derrickson (Ultimatum to Earth, Sinister, Deliver Us from Evil) as director.
Black Phone is the film adaptation of Joe Hill's short story of the same name and stars Ethan Hawke (The Northman), an American actor, screenwriter and director who previously worked with Scott Derrickson on the film Sinister (2012).
Streetcar: Finney Shaw, a 13-year-old boy kidnapped by a serial killer (Ethan Hawke) who has already killed several minors. Locked in a soundproof basement, the young boy finds an old telephone set disconnected but able to transmit the voices of young victims who will try to help him escape.
The cast also includes James Ransone, Jeremy Davies, Mason Thames and Madeleine McGraw.
The screenplay, on the other hand, was written by Scott Derrickson himself in collaboration with Robert Cargill.
Recall that the masks worn by Ethan Hawke were designed by renowned U.S. actor and effects designer Tom Savini (Zombies, Friday the 13th, Maniac, Day of the Zombies).

JUNE 23: Studio 666
On June 23, in addition to Black Phone, at the cinema there will also be Studio 666 (USA - 2022), the horror splatter/gore comedy featuring the Foo Fighters, an American alternative rock music group founded in 1994 by Dave Grohl, the former drummer of Nirvana.
Distributed by Nexo Digital, the film is directed by BJ McDonnell, the director of Hatchet III.
In Studio 666, the Foo Fighters move to Encino, a Los Angeles suburb, to record their long-awaited tenth album. Once on site, leader Dave Grohl will find himself grappling with supernatural forces that will threaten not only the completion of the album but also the band's lives.
The cast of Studio 666 consists of Dave Grohl, Taylor Hawkins, Pat Smear, Chris Shiflett, Rami Jaffee, Whitney Cummings, Leslie Grossman, Will Forte, Jenna Ortega and Jeff Garlin.
The script is by Jeff Buhler and Rebecca Hughes and is based on a story by musician Dave Grohl.
