This month's movie schedule includes the theatrical release of the action-thriller The first night of judgment on July 5. This will be followed by the horror Hereditary - Le radici del male (July 25) and Hostile (July 26). Below are the film fact sheets complete with Italian posters and trailers.
Written by James DeMonaco (the screenwriter and director of the other three chapters in the saga) and directed by Gerard McMurray, The first night of judgment (aka The First Purge) will see the light of day in Italian cinemas on July 5 with Universal Pictures. The first night of judgment (USA - 2018) is the prequel to the The Purge (2013).
Plot: to lower the crime rate to below one percent for the rest of the year, the New Founding Fathers of America (NFFA) test a sociological theory based on venting to allow the wildest and cruelest instincts to be unleashed overnight in an isolated community. However, when the violence of the oppressors collides with the rage of the marginalized, venting will cross the boundaries of the test town and spread across the nation.

The horror film about the malevolent legacy Hereditary - The Roots of Evil (USA - 2018) will arrive in Italian theaters on. July 25 distributed by Lucky Red.
Produced by A24 (The Witch, Split, The Killing of a Sacred Deer), the film is written and directed by Ari Aster and stars Toni Collette (Fright Night - The Vampire Next Door, Krampus: Christmas Isn't Always Christmas).
Plot: following the death of the matriarch, the Graham family discovers horrible secrets related to her lineage. After researching their genealogical past in fact, Annie (Toni Collette) and her loved ones will be forced to face a sinister and sad fate that they have unfortunately inherited. Rooted in their blood, evil will destroy their lives forever.
The cast of Hereditary - The Roots of Evil includes Toni Collette, Milly Shapiro, Alex Wolff, Ann Dowd, Mallory Bechtel, Gabriel Byrne and Zachary Arthur.
Colin Stetson handled the soundtrack while Kevin Frakes and Lars Knudsen are the film's producers.

The July 26 Twelve Entertainment porta in sala l'horror francese Hostile, the first feature film written and directed by Mathieu Turi.
Hostile (Francia - 2017) affronta il tema della fine del mondo ed è interpretato da Brittany Ashworth (The Crucifixion), qui nel ruolo di una sopravvissuta che dovrà fare affidamento sulle sue proprie forze per cavarsela in una situazione molto ostile.
Plot: Juliette is the sole survivor in a post-apocalyptic future. The girl, however, will have to fight hunger and thirst but also try to defend herself against terrible creatures that only show up at night. Her broken leg will make it all the more difficult for her.
