Cinema programming in July sees the screening of as many as four films in the horror genre. We are talking about the following films: It Follows (July 6), Cell (July 13), Goodnight Mommy (July 27) e La notte del giudizio - Election Year (July 28).

A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night (from the June 30 theaters) is a vampire movie shot in black and white by director Ana Lily Amirpour. The film features an innovative figure for Western cinema: an Iranian vampire wrapped in a black chador.
The story takes place in Bad City, a fictional Iranian city, a place of prostitution, drugs and perdition. A lone vampire (Sheila Vand) roams the neighborhood looking for the filthiest inhabitants to eliminate.

The July 13 Is the date for the sci-fi horror Cell, the film adaptation of Stephen King's 2006 apocalyptic novel of the same name. The film is directed by Tod Williams (Paranormal Activity 2) while the screenplay is by Adam Alleca in collaboration with Stephen King.
Plot: Clayton Riddell (John Cusack) is at the Boston airport when suddenly everyone with a cell phone to their ear loses their mind. A pulse emitted by the devices destroys the victims' brains, turning them into rabid killers devoid of speech. The virus runs rampant bringing civilization to collapse.

Goodnight Mommy (Ich seh, Ich seh) is an Austrian thriller-horror film written and directed by Severin Fiala and Veronika Fran. The film will be released in Italian theaters starting on July 27 thanks to Koch Media.
Plot: The mother of ten-year-old twin brothers undergoes facial surgery. Returning to her children with her face bandaged, the woman's strange behavior instills fear in the twins, who begin to doubt that she is their mother.
In the cast: Susanne Wuest, Elias Schwarz and Lukas Schwarz. Ulrich Seidl produced the film while cinematography is by Martin Gschlacht.

Thanks to Universal Pictures International Italy, from the July 28 will be available in the hall Judgment Night - Election Year (The Purge: Election Year), the third installment in the saga that began in 2013 with The Purge (The Purge) and second sequel after Anarchy - Judgment Night (2014). Like the other two films in the franchise, this new installment is also written and directed by James DeMonaco.
Plot: Former police sergeant Leo Barnes (Frank Grillo) has become head of security for Senator Charlene Roan (Elizabeth Mitchell). She is busy eliminating the night of the Outburst, but on that very dangerous night, a traitor within the government will force the two of them out into the streets.
