Exactly one year after the first news about Johnny Z (link to news story), we return to talk about this martial arts- and zombie-based action-horror regarding its release. Directed by Jonathan Straiton (Night of Something Strange), Johnny Z will be distributed in 2019 by Hurricane Bridge Entertainment in collaboration with Black Mandala (Inbred, What the Waters Left Behind).
Definito dallo stesso regista come "un macabro thriller-action", il film vede protagonista Johnny, un essere per metà umano e per metà morto vivente nel cui sangue scorre la cura miracolosa per arrestare l'epidemia zombie. Dopo essere fuggito da Nordac, un carcere medico-sperimentale, Johnny è sotto la guida del grande Maestro di arti marziali Jonray. Insieme a lui, l'evaso intraprenderà un viaggio straordinario durante il quale cercherà di combattere i propri demoni interiori.
Part of the cast of Night of Something Strange namely Wayne W. Johnson, Michael Merchant (House Shark) and Trey Harrison. They were joined by martial arts master Felix Cortes (Daredevil, The Punisher), Jason Delgado and David E Mcmahon.
The screenplay is by Ron Bonk (She Kills, House Shark) while special effects are by Marcus Koch (We Are Still Here, American Guinea Pig saga). Michael Kraetzer, Brie Straiton, Brett Janeski and Ryan Felker appear in the production instead.
