Let’s look at a preview of what will be hitting theaters this month. The upcoming films are Nosferatu (Jan. 1) by Robert Eggers, Wolf Man (Jan. 16) by Leigh Whannell and Bagman (Jan. 23) by Colm McCarthy.

JANUARY 1: Nosferatu
Written and directed by Robert Eggers (The VVitch), the gothic horror Nosferatu (2024) stars Bill Skarsgård (It, It - Chapter Two) and is currently in Italian theaters.
The story sheds light on Ellen Hutter (Lily-Rose Depp), a troubled young woman in 19th-century Germany, and Count Orlok (Bill Skarsgård), the dangerous Transylvanian vampire (Bill Skarsgard) who, obsessed with her, stalks her.
Following Werner Herzog's Nosferatu (1979), the film is the second remake of Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror (1922), considered the Friedrich Wilhelm Murnau's masterpiece and loosely based on Bram Stoker's 1897 novel “Dracula”.
The new Nosferatu stars Willem Dafoe (Streets of Fire, The Shadow of the Vampire, John Wick), Lily-Rose Depp (Tusk, Silent Night), Nicholas Hoult (Mad Max: Fury Road, Renfield), Emma Corrin (Lady Chatterley's Lover), Bill Skarsgård (It, It - Chapter Two) and Aaron Taylor-Johnson (Kick-Ass, Bullet Train).
JANUARY 16: Wolf Man
Directed by Leigh Whannell (The Invisible Man), Wolf Man Is a modern remake of the classic The wolf man of 1941 and will arrive in theaters on January 16, 2025.
Speaking about his film, the director revealed that he was inspired by The fly by David Cronenberg.
The film is produced by Blumhouse, which has already collaborated with Leigh Whannell in the The invisible man.
The cast includes Christopher Abbott (It Comes at Night), Julia Garner (Sin City), Sam Jaeger (The Handmaid's Tale), Ben Prendergast and Benedict Hardie (Upgrade).
The screenplay is by Lauren Schuker Blum, Rebecca Angelo, Whannell & Corbett Tuck.
Plot: Blake (Christopher Abbott) inherits his childhood home in the remote Oregon wilderness following the mysterious disappearance and presumed death of his estranged father. The man convinces his wife Charlotte and his daughter Ginger to visit the property but at night, during a full moon, the family is attacked by a mysterious werewolf and takes refuge inside the farmhouse. Here Blake begins to undergo a monstrous transformation that will endanger the lives of his wife and daughter.

JANUARY 23: Bagman
The supernatural horror Bagman is directed by Colm McCarthy (Outcast, The Girl Whit All the Gifts) and will be released in theaters on January 23, 2025.
The story sheds light on a creature that abducts children.
For centuries, parents have warned their children of the Bagman, a creature who kidnaps innocent children and hides them in his putrid bag, never to be seen again. As a child, Patrick McKee (Sam Claflin) escaped Bagman, an experience that has left him with indelible scars throughout his adulthood. Now, his childhood tormentor has returned, threatening the safety of his wife Karina (Antonia Thomas) and son Jake (Caréll Vincent Rhoden).
Bagman stars Sam Claflin (Last Night in Soho), Antonia Thomas, Caréll Vincent Rhoden, William Hope, Steven Cree, Frankie Corio, Adelle Leonce and Peter McDonald.
The screenplay is by John Hulme.
