In January, the movie theater schedule includes the release of three horror films. On January 1, it made its theatrical debut. Suspiria (l'omaggio all'omonimo film di Dario Argento) di Luca Guadagnino.
Instead, on January 17, the following will be screened in theaters Glass (sequel e crossover di "Unbreakable – Il predestinato" e di "Split") per la regia di M. Night Shyamalan mentre il 31 è la data fissata per The Exorcism of Hannah Grace, l'horror sulla possessione diretto da Diederik Van Rooijen.
Directed by Luca Guadagnino, Suspiria debuted in theaters on Jan. 1 with Videa.
Dakota Johnson (50 Shades of Grey) plays the protagonist Susie Bannion, the American dancer admitted to the prestigious Berlin ballet school run by Madame Blanc (Tilda Swinton). On the very day of her arrival, however, a girl from the ballet company mysteriously disappears. From that moment, Susie begins to suspect that the director harbors a dark and terrifying secret.
The cast also includes Chloë Grace Moretz (Blood Story, The Look of Satan - Carrie), Renée Soutendijk, Sylvie Testud, Mia Goth, Jessica Harper (Suspiria 1977) and Tilda Swinton (Constantine, Only Lovers Survive) in a dual role (Madame Blanc and psychoanalyst Josef Klemperer).
The screenplay of Suspiria is by David Kajganich while the soundtrack is by Thom Yorke, the former Radiohead frontman.

Glass (USA - 2019), the sci-fi thriller-horror directed by M. Night Shyamalan (Signs, And the Day Came, The Visit) will arrive in Italian theaters on January 17, 2019 thanks to Universal Pictures.
In Glass, Bruce Willis and Samuel L. Jackson reprise the roles they had in Unbreakable (those of David Dunn and Elijah Price/Mr. Glass, respectively) to flank James McAvoy, who instead plays Kevin Wendell/the beast, the protagonist of Split.
Plot: Kevin Wendell (James McAvoy) is a man suffering from multiple personalities. The latest among them, the "Beast," turns him into a kind of dangerous super cannibal. Elijah Price (Samuel L. Jackson), on the other hand, is the "Glass Man," a man who is severely ill with osteogenesis imperfecta, a genetic disorder that puts him at risk of constant fractures. He is aware of some secrets about Dunn and Wendell and, because of this, will manipulate them at will to achieve his own goals.
In addition to the aforementioned actors in the cast are Anya Taylor-Joy (The Witch, Morgan, Split), Sarah Paulson (American Horror Story), Spencer Treat Clark (The Last Exorcism - Deliver Us from Evil, The City That Was Afraid), and Luke Kirby (Halloween - Resurrection).

The Exorcism of Hannah Grace (USA - 2018) will debut in Italian theaters on January 31 with Sony Pictures Italia.
This horror film about diabolical possession is directed by Diederik Van Rooijen (Taped) on a screenplay by Brian Sieve (Boogeyman 2 - Return of the Bogeyman and Boogeyman 3). The film deals with a case of possession in the morgue.
Plot: Megan Reed (Shay Mitchell) is working a night shift at a hospital morgue when the body of a young girl who died during an exorcism is left at the site. The presence of that body will trigger a series of terrifying events within the walls of the mortuary upsetting Megan, who will find herself alone in facing that hell.
In the cast of The Exorcism of Hannah Grace (aka The Possession of Hannah Grace) are Shay Mitchell, Gray Damon (Oldboy), Stana Katic (Castle), Kirby Johnson, Lexie Roth, Louis Herthum, and Jacob Ming-Trent.
