For the month of January, two horror films are scheduled in Italian theaters.
The January 26 is the date of Split, the film about multiple personality disorder directed by M. Night Shyamalan and starring James McAvoy.
From Jan. 30 and through Feb. 1, you can instead enjoy at the cinema the remastered 4K version of Argentina's masterpiece Suspiria (1977) which returns to theaters after 40 years. A memorable event that is not to be missed.
As of January 26, thanks to Universal Pictures will land in Italian theaters. Split, the psychological thriller/horror written and directed by M. Night Shyamalan (The Sixth Sense, The Village, The Visit).
Plot: Kevin (McAvoy) has been diagnosed with as many as 23 personalities, each of which, in turn, takes control of the subject. Unfortunately, in the young patient the predominant personality is the most dangerous: it tends to materialize frequently, thus dominating all the others. One day, overwhelmed by his mental disorder, Kevin kidnaps some girls.
In the cast: James McAvoy, Anya Taylor-Joy (The Witch, Morgan), Betty Buckley (Carrie - The Look of Satan), Brad William Henke, Haley Lu Richardson, Sterling K. Brown, Kim Director, Sebastian Arcelus and Jon Douglas Rainey.
Also among the film's producers (M. Night Shyamalan, Marc Bienstock, Ashwin Rajan and Steven Schneider) is Jason Blum (The Purge, Insidious, The Gift).

Directed by Dario Argento back in 1977, Suspiria è il primo capitolo della "Trilogia delle madri" di cui fanno parte Inferno and The third mother.
Trama: Suzy Bannion (Jessica Harper), una giovane americana, raggiunge l'Accademia di danza a Friburgo, in Germania, per perfezionare le sue doti artistiche. La ballerina fa il suo arrivo in una notte tempestosa e, proprio nei pressi della scuola, si scontra con Pat, una ragazza che sembra avere una gran fretta di abbandonare l'edificio. Quella notte le porte dell'Accademia non si apriranno per Suzy, costringendola a passare la notte altrove.
Intanto Pat raggiunge un'amica che frequenta la scuola ma le due ragazze vengono assassinate brutalmente.
Il mattino dopo Suzy si ripresenta all'Accademia. Qui viene accolta freddamente da miss Tanner la quale la presenta all'insegnante, Madame Blanc. Suzy inizia a fare la conoscenza di altre allieve e, nonostante il clima poco amichevole, cerca di concentrarsi sulla danza. Per lei sarà troppo tardi quando si accorgerà di trovarsi nel posto sbagliato.
A curare il restauro dei materiali originali del primo capitolo della "Trilogia delle Madri" è stata Videa (società di produzione e distribuzione cinematografica italiana) che si è occupata di correggere digitalmente tutti i difetti della pellicola. La qualità delle immagini si possono infatti notare e apprezzare nel nuovo trailer che troverete in fondo all'articolo.
Per l'occasione è stato anche realizzato un nuovo artwork (in basso a sinistra) a cura dello Studio Grafite.
