Via his official Instagram account, James McAvoy confirmed the start of filming of IT: Chapter 2, the sequel to It (directed by Andrés Muschietti), the highly successful film adaptation of Stephen King's novel of the same name. The actor will play the adult version of Bill Denbrough (Georgie's brother), a role given to the very young Jaeden Lieberher in the first chapter.
Andrés Muschietti (The Mother), author of the record-breaking first part in 2017, is reappointed to direct this new chapter. The screenplay is signed by Gary Dauberman, already author of the script for the first film. As previously announced in recent months, It: Chapter 2 will be released in theaters on September 6, 2019.

In It: Chapter 2 we will find Jessica Chastain as Beverly Marsh, Bill Hader as Richie Tozer, and James Ransone instead will be Eddie Kaspbrak. Andy Bean, Jay Ryan and Isaiah Mustafa will be Stanley Uris, Ben Hanscom and Mike Hanlon, respectively. All the actors mentioned will play the characters of the Losers Club in their adult versions.
They are joined by Bill Skarsgård who will return as the evil clown Pennywise while Chosen Jacobs is likely to return in some flashbacks.

As in the novel, It: Chapter 2 will resume events 27 years after the first part: the diabolical Pennywise returns nearly 30 years after being defeated by the Losers Club. The terrible clown is ready to attack the new generation of Derry children, but they, too, will want to get rid of him. Meanwhile, many of the members of the Losers' Club, now adults, have moved back to Derry.
