With a message on Instagram, actor and director Patrick Wilson announced the end of filming of Fear The Dark, tentative title of the fifth chapter of Insidious.
Insidious 5 marks the directorial debut of Patrick Wilson (Insidious, The Conjuring), who is also featured in the project as an actor in the role of Josh Lambert, a character who has appeared in all the films of the saga and whom he has played.
The release date for this new chapter, which still lacks an official title, is set for July 7, 2023 with Sony Pictures.
In Insidious 5, Patrick Wilson, Rose Byrne and Ty Simpkin, again play members of the Lambert family, and the story of the film takes place ten years after the events that occurred in the fourth installment of the franchise, Insidious - The Last Key (2018) to be directed by Adam Robitel (The Taking of Deborah Logan).
Plot: Josh Lambert (Patrick Wilson) accompanies his son Dalton (Ty Simpkins) to an idyllic university. However, the young man's college dream becomes a nightmare when repressed demons from his past suddenly return to haunt both him and his father.
Scott Teems (Halloween Kills) has signed the screenplay for. Insidious 5 from a subject by Leigh Whannell, author of all four previous stories as well as director of Insidious 3.
