According to reports from Collider, the title of the fifth installment of the horror franchise Insidious will no longer be Insidious: Fear the Dark but Insidious: The Red Door.
Directed by and starring actor Patrick Wilson (Insidious, The Conjuring), here making his film debut, Insidious: The Red Door is the sequel to the second film in the saga and will be released in U.S. theaters starting July 7.
In the franchise, Patrick Wilson is Josh Lambert, a character who has appeared in all chapters and will also be featured in Insidious 5. In the new film, in particular, the story will focus on the Lambert family, reintroducing the original characters.
Scott Teems (Halloween Kills) has signed the screenplay for. Insidious 5 from a subject by Leigh Whannell, author of all four previous stories as well as director of Insidious 3.
In addition to Patrick Wilson, the cast also includes Rose Byrne, Peter Dager, Sinclair Daniel, and Hiam Abbass.
