Presented as "The most terrifying film ever made in Taiwan", Taiwanese blockbuster horror film Incantation will be available exclusively on Netflix starting today, July 8.
The film is directed by Kevin Ko (Invitation Only) and was critically acclaimed, earning seven Taipei Film Award nominations (including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Actress).
The sequel, to be directed by Kevin Ko, has already been announced.

Inspired by a true story involving a family of cult followers in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, Incantation is a mockumentary/found footage that sheds light on a mother trying to save her child from a deadly curse. The story revolves around a cursed video in which she is asked to solve a puzzle to save the protagonist's daughter, who was guilty six years earlier of breaking a religious taboo that triggered the curse.

Kevin Ko revealed, "Religion and, in particular, religious taboos, instill fear... I've always loved scary stories but I've never had the courage to tackle this topic. In Incantation I wanted to amplify that feeling...."

In the cast: Hsuan-yen Tsai, Mohamed Elgendy, Ying-Hsuan Kao, Sean Lin, Ahmed Shawky Shaheen, and Ching-Yu Wen.
The screenplay is by Kevin Ko in collaboration with Che-Wei Chang.
