In nomine Satan, whose official trailer we report today, is the cinematic work marking the directorial debut of Emanuele Cerman, previously also an actor for Ivan Zuccon (Maelstrom - The Child of Elsewhere, The Escaped House, Bad Brains...). The film is inspired by the black news episode of the "Beasts of Satan," a group of young serial killers accused of committing murder and inducing suicide.
Emanuele Cerman boldly brings to the stage a searing story that goes back more than a decade and is rooted in Satan worship.
The director co-wrote the screenplay with Stefano Calvagna, and both also appear in the cast as actors. Photography is by Dario di Mella, while the original soundtrack is by Eleonora Esposto. Production was handled by the director himself for TIMELINE srl, in collaboration with Mattia Mor, Andrea Lancieri and Stefano Calvagna.
In the cast: Federico Palmieri, Stefano Calvagna, Emanuele Cerman, Tiziano Mariani, Mattia Mor, Giulia Morgani, Fabiano Lioi (Eaters, The Museum of Wonders), Maria Tona, Virginia Dhoroty Gherardini, Francesca Viscardi, Fabrizio Raggi, Gianmarco Bellumori, Fabio Farronato...
The film has seen the light of day in Italian theaters in Rome, Ancona, Grosseto, and Varese, but it is not ruled out to be shown in theaters in other cities in a few months. In nomine Satan is distributed by Independent Distribution.
In nomine Satan received six nominations and the Best Drama award at the New York City International Film Festival.
Plot: The discovery of a boy and girl stuffed with drugs, alcohol, and psychotropic drugs triggers an investigation. Investigators discover that the two young people are involved in the murder of their friend Angela De Rosa. Further research leads to the trail of Satanism, to a satanic cult to which other murders and incitements to suicide are attributed.
