In an interview in Cinemablend, Christopher Landon revealed that he has a fairly clear idea for a third installment in the franchise that began with Best wishes on your death in 2017 and continued with the sequel Best wishes again for your death (2019).
The director has admitted that he wants to devote himself to a third film, provided that the public shows interest in his saga about the time loop.
The horror comedy Best wishes again for your death (aka Happy Death Day 2U) premiered in US theaters yesterday, while in Italy it will arrive on February 28 with Universal Pictures.
Jessica Rothe, the actress from the first chapter, again plays Tree Gelbman, the student who was stuck in a terrifying time loop. In the 2017 film, the girl constantly relived the day of her murder and, in reenacting the most terrifying and painful moments of her death, tried to discover the identity of the person who murdered her. In the sequel, however, Tree will be forced to die over and over again to save her friends.
In the cast of Best wishes again for your death there are also Israel Broussard, Suraj Sharma, Ruby Modine, Rachel Matthews, Sarah Yarkin, Steve Zissis, Charles Aitken and Kenneth Israel.
