It is entitled Horsehead (France - 2014) the fantasy horror film directed by Romain Basset, a director who previously directed two short genre films (Projection and Bloody Current Exchange).
The film's poster and trailer are highly evocative, hinting at a surreal, dreamlike world rooted in horror. Like a painting, the video in fact sketches an explosion of immersive images full of dark fascination that link reality with dreams.
Of the screenplay of Horsehead was handled by the director himself along with Karim Chériguène. The cast boasts the valuable presence of Catriona MacColl, known for acting in Fulcian films and recently seen in Chimères by Olivier Beguin. The celebrated actress is joined by Lilly-Fleur Pointeaux in the title role of Jessica, Murray Head, Gala Besson, Fu'ad Ait Aattou, Vernon Dobtcheff, Joe Sheridan, and Philippe Nahon.

Jessica is a girl who has been plagued by recurrent nightmares since childhood. This dream experience led her to study psychophysiology to try to understand the origin of her nightmares and also to make sense of them. After the death of her grandmother, Jessica returns to the family home where waiting for her is her mother with whom she does not get along. In the next room, however, is the old woman's corpse for the wake and that will cause her more nightmares. After dreaming of the deceased, Jessica wakes up sick. Stuck in bed due to a very high fever, she uses her lethargic state to induce lucid dreaming and try to take control over her dream world.
Horsehead (aka Fièvre) is produced by Horsehead Pictures & Starfix Productions and recently premiered at Fantastic Fest.
