The Survivalist (UK - 2015) is a thriller with hints of horror that focuses on the struggle for survival in a post-apocalyptic society. Written and directed by Stephen Fingleton, here in his first feature film, it features a lonely man immersed in nature.
The Survivalist will see the light of day in U.S. theaters on May 19 thanks to IFC Films. Meanwhile, we report the release of the official trailer.
Plot: A young man (Martin McCann) accustomed for years to living in solitude trying to keep any intruders away, is visited by a woman (Olwen Fouéré) accompanied by her daughter (Mia Goth). In exchange for help and food, the adult is ready to surrender the girl to gratify the young man's sexual urges. The plan of the two, however, is to take out the hermit in order to seize his refuge. However, other bandits are circulating in the area who are willing to do anything to survive.
