This month's horror releases in Italian theaters include Evil Dead Burn (July 8), directed by Sébastien Vaniček, and the survival shark movie Deep Water (July 23), directed by Renny Harlin.
Also returning to theaters on July 13 to mark its 50th anniversary is The House with Laughing Windows, Pupi Avati's cult classic.

July 8: Evil Dead Burn
Directed by French filmmaker Sébastien Vaniček (Vermin), Evil Dead Burn is the sixth installment in the iconic horror franchise and the third standalone entry following Evil Dead (2013), directed by Fede Alvarez, and Evil Dead Rise (2023), directed by Lee Cronin.
The movie promises to be one of the franchise's most violent and brutal chapters. It opens in Italian theaters on July 8 through Eagle Pictures.
Plot: After the death of her husband, a woman seeks refuge at her in-laws' remote home. What should have been a time of mourning soon turns into a nightmare as her relatives are possessed one by one and transformed into Deadites, leading to a hellish family reunion. As the horror unfolds, she discovers that the vows made in life continue to have consequences even after death.
The cast includes Souheila Yacoub, Hunter Doohan, Luciane Buchanan, Tandi Wright (Pearl), and George Pullar.
The screenplay was written by Vaniček and Florent Bernard. Producers include Rob Tapert and franchise creator Sam Raimi.

July 13: The House with Laughing Windows
Considered one of the defining works of the Italian giallo genre, The House with Laughing Windows (1976), Pupi Avati's masterpiece, returns to Italian theaters on July 13 in a newly restored 4K edition.
Released by CG Entertainment in collaboration with Cat People, the re-release marks the film's 50th anniversary.
Plot: The story follows Stefano, a young art restorer hired to restore a disturbing fresco in a small village in Italy's Po Valley. Painted years earlier by an artist who later took his own life, the artwork depicts the martyrdom of Saint Sebastian in the arms of two monstrous women. As the restoration progresses, Stefano finds himself drawn into a web of silence, suspicion, and murder, eventually uncovering a dark secret the villagers will do anything to protect.
The cast includes Lino Capolicchio, Francesca Marciano, Gianni Cavina, and Giulio Pizzirani.
The screenplay was written by Pupi Avati, Antonio Avati, Gianni Cavina, and Maurizio Costanzo.

July 23: Deep Water
Deep Water is a survival shark movie directed by Finnish filmmaker Renny Harlin (Exorcist: The Beginning, The Covenant) and starring Aaron Eckhart and Ben Kingsley. The movie follows an international flight that crashes in the Pacific Ocean, forcing its passengers and crew to fight for survival as they are surrounded by sharks.
Deep Water opens in Italian theaters on July 23 through Notorious Pictures.
Plot: During an international flight from Los Angeles to Shanghai, an airliner is forced to make an emergency landing in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. After the crash, the passengers and crew become stranded among the wreckage, surrounded by sharks drawn to the debris. To have any chance of survival, they must work together in a desperate fight against the deadly predators.
The cast includes Aaron Eckhart (The Dark Knight, I, Frankenstein), Ben Kingsley (House of Sand and Fog, Schindler's List), Kelly Gale, and Angus Sampson.
