poltergeistPoltergeist (USA - 2015) is the remake of the Tobe Hooper film (1982) and will premiere today, June 29, during the closing night of the 35th Fantafestival 2015 in Rome. The remake is directed by Gil Kenan for a screenplay by David Lindsay-Abaire. The cast includes Sam Rockwell, Jared Harris, Rosemarie DeWitt, Saxon Sharbino, Kyle Catlett, Jane Adams and Kennedi Clements. The latter plays the role of Madison, which had been given to little Heather O'Rourke (Caroline) in the 1982 film.
Synopsis: Due to financial problems, the Bowen family moves to a house in the suburbs. There, however, an evil force kidnaps Madison, the youngest daughter, taking her to another dimension populated by the dead. The child's parents will do everything to bring their little girl back to the world of the living before it is too late.

babadook-posterBabadook (2014 - Australia, Canada) is a genre film written and directed by Jennifer Kent. Babadook is the extension of Monster, a short film that the director herself made in 2005. The film focuses on the bogeyman of fairy tales, and in addition to horror, it borders on family drama, psychological horror, and even possession. The cast includes Essie Davis, Noah Wiseman, Hayley McElhinney, Daniel Henshall, Barbara West, Benjamin Winspear, and Chloe Hurn.
Synopsis: Amelia (Essie Davis) is a widow raising her six-year-old son Samuel (Noah Wiseman) alone and never getting over the death of her husband. One day the child finds a mysterious book in the house about a man dressed in black, "Mr. Babadook." Mother and son leaf through it and read it, but from that moment on, their lives are turned upside down by a creepy presence that roams the house and will make them live in terror.

luogodelleombreThe place of shadows (USA - 2013) is the film adaptation of Dean Koonz's novel, "Odd Thomas," the first in a series of seven books, "Odd Thomas," "Forever Odd," "Brother Odd," "Odd Hours," "Odd Apocalypse," "Deeply Odd," and "Saint Odd." The film is written and directed by Stephen Sommers (The Mummy franchise, Van Helsing) and is played by Anton Yelchin (Fright Night - The Vampire Next Door, Only lovers survive). In addition to Anton Yelchin in the cast are Anton Yelchin, Willem Dafoe, Addison Timlin, Ashley Sommers, Leonor Varela, Matthew Page, Casey Messer, Patton Oswalt, Barney Lanning, Nico Tortorella, and Kyle McKeever.
Synopsis: Odd Thomas is a 20-year-old who works as a cook at the Pico Mundo diner and has a special gift: he can sense the presence of the dead. One day a mysterious man shows up at his place accompanied by the bodachs, creatures that usually appear during misfortunes. From that strange visit the young cook senses that something terrible is about to befall the town.
