NEON has unveiled the official trailer for Hokum (2026), an Irish supernatural horror steeped in witchcraft and folk traditions, starring Adam Scott (Krampus, The Monkey).
Written and directed by Damian McCarthy, the filmmaker behind the unsettling Caveat (2020) and Oddity (2024), Hokum premiered on March 14, 2026 at the South by Southwest Film & TV Festival, drawing attention for its brooding atmosphere and slow-building tension.
The film is set for a U.S. theatrical release on May 1 through NEON.

The story centers on Ohm Bauman (Adam Scott), a writer who travels to a remote corner of Ireland to scatter his parents’ ashes. What begins as a personal and introspective journey soon takes a darker turn, as the house he’s staying in appears to harbor a sinister presence—one tied to ancient practices and a past that resurfaces in increasingly unsettling ways.

Adam Scott, Peter Coonan, David Wilmot, Florence Ordesh, Will O’Connell, Michael Patrick, Brendan Conroy and Austin Amelio star.
